Seems Google is automatically listing phone numbers now. Interesting…

I was doing a search for Jerry Brown and Bill Clinton and the above screen capture showed the result. Its a handy feature. I’m using Mozilla Firebird as my browser and my ip probably shows I’m coming from the states and not Ireland.

Blue

Tomorrow Friday I’m going to pay special attention to the colour blue.

There. That is all.

Oh its a fine life for some

While Kevins sitting on his ass growing old and doing nothing I’m up to my eye-balls with work. Been very busy lately and trying to finish work before a friday deadline and now I got landed to do a presentation. Oh yay.

Saw this link to Dunbar’s Co-evolution of neocortex size, group size and language in humans. Found this via Interconnected. It talks about some numbers that pop up again and again in groups: 150 and 7. Gladwell talked about this too in his book The Tipping Point

Interesting how there are natural numbers in nature. Reminds me of Pi:

11:15, restate my assumptions: 1. Mathematics is the language of nature. 2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. 3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature.

Got a text from Fixer last night. He got a nasty blood infection that could have killed him. God bless Anti-biotics.

Speaking of red (oooh good segway Damien) , red versus blue is some thing the geeks and nerds of Boards were muppeting on about a lot there before. Seems they swept the awards at some animation festival. Correction: ‘Machinima is filmmaking within a real-time, 3D virtual environment.’

Its again a difference between the haves and the have nots as without good bandwidth I can’t download these shorts with large file szes to watch them.

Ordered loads of uninteresting crap online during the weekend. A few Christmas presents, T-Shirts, music cds and a DVD.

The cds I ordered are: TURIN BRAKES Ether Song , RADIOHEAD Hail To The Thief (Limited Edition) , RADIOHEAD I Might Be Wrong – LIVE , ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Kill Bill Vol. 1

And then I got City of God on DVD.

I’m soon going to have to catalog my dvd collection soon. Ebay has Cuecats for a dirt cheap price so I might get one of them and then use some free software to catalog them.

Moriarty from Aint it Cool comments on Charlies Angels

Set on another planet where physics obviously don’t matter, this is the story of two very hot girls who are friends with a girl who’s been told she’s hot, but really isn’t. Together, they randomly beat, brutalize, and sexually belittle their male victims while wearing as many different fetish-themed outfits as possible.

As uninterested in narrative coherence as even the strangest David Lynch film, CHARLIE’S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE should scare a whole generation of 12 year old boys off heterosexuality once and for all.

Tips for using Google Adsense

Sunday, October 26th, 2003

Matt Haughey created a very informative piece on using Googles Adsense. I might at some stage in the future use AdSense for another project but I don’t think a personal blog would make anything from Ads and plus Google won’t do personal websites.

The domain name Matt uses is cool too – http://a.wholelottanothing.org , he is also the dude behind MetaFilter which I view a good few times a day.

Wow this art is new and cool

To Do List for the Bank Holiday

Saturday, October 25th, 2003

So whats my to-do list this Bank Holiday ?

Lets see. Get Mulley.info working again to accept mail. Put some form of content on Mulley.us and get some forum software on the Mulley Genealogy website.

And if thats not enough I should try and start making inroads into getting the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Teen Resource site up and running.

Tech link: Many 2 Many – a collaborative blog on social software. The quality of the posts on this are really high and the comments contain some nuggets too. A great site with a great audience.

the joy of sleep

For the past few nights I have been going to bed at 9-10pm at night and its making a world of difference to my work. My productivity has sored. I realised my body needs an avergage of at least 8 hours and getting to bed at midnight or 1am or sometimes 3am and being back up at 6am was turning me into a zombie.

Now its Friday night, I don’t have to be up at 6am but I think I’m still going to be heading to my leaba early. Going to attempt to read the final installment of the Dark Materials Trilogy tomorrow.
