I was considering renting out one of the small function rooms in Buswell’s. Have used them before. Nice people. Room is modest but has wifi! Room costs about 350 Euros but if 70 people bring a fiver each it would cover costs. There’s a bar in the hotel too for drinks. Thoughts?
And what is that catagory?
Irish Blog Awards 2006
We’re pleased to announce category sponsorship of the ‘Best Irish Photo Blog‘ at the first Irish Blog Awards to be held on the 6th of March 2006 here in Dublin. Nominations have closed with over 100 blogs and a short-list will be r…
Best Comment/Commenter is sponsored by Spark Ireland but Best Fictional Piece in a Blog has become vacant so I’m giving them first refusal and so they might swap with Best Comment/Commenter. If so then Best Comment/Commenter will be the remaining category.
Ok, someone is getting back to me about the Best Fictional Piece. Will know more tonight. Spark Ireland is still staying with the Best Comment category.
I think the room in Buswell’s sounds good and am willing to start taking bets on how many laptops will be in the room during the evening??
(BTW am going to betray my non-nerd status, not bring my lappy, and get sozzled instead. Ta dah!)
Any ideas on a date yet?

That’s the best idea I’ve heard all week.
I don’t even HAVE a ‘lappy’ to ‘not bring’!
Will have a pen and paper though…or possibly a crayon…
And the sozzled bit sounds good.
oohh crayons – are they in pretty colours???
maybe we can draw pictures on the covers of some of the (inevitable) apple laptop thingymajiggies that’ll be there??
how about etchasketchs? lol…and how about going retro with flipcharts instead of powerpoint? snigger (can you tell I am trying to write a lecture!)
I have the full Crayola range of colours. They’re non-toxic too, in case anyone gets peckish.
I actually create all the posts and images for my blog in crayon, before passing them on to the gimp-geek I keep under the stairs so he can digitise the information.
I assume everyone else does much the same.
