Noel Dempsey, Minister for Dialup Communications will be on the Last Word this evening on TodayFM around 6pm. As usual with a Minister, no opposition will be on but Matt Cooper will be asking some questions. I’d suggest that you tune in and text in and email in questions.
If you want to make a comment then email: lastword@todayfm.com or text in using the shortcode: 53102 (Normal text rates apply)
Just heard him on the radio. The minister lives in the middle ages. Ireland is started a year or two late than others? Like who? Romania?
And cheap???
I want to know if the Minister has broadband in his own home, and if he does, since he thinks it’s cheap, I’d like to know who pays for his access?
I missed it. Was anything interesting discussed?
On a similar note; I have had a few chats over the last few days with some eatern-european people living & working in Ireland.
All have expressed their complete amazement of the lack of broadband and Internet related services in Ireland.
The services & pricings in their homecountries are lightyears ahead of what’s available in Ireland.
And these countries were until recently considered backward soviet sattelite states….
E.
Lightweight interview. Matt didn’t probe him on anything really. Just read out text messages. Dempsey waffled and kept talking about “Next Generation Networks”. Bit rich talking about vapourware when the country still can’t get access to almost ten year old technology. He talked up prices and then avoided the line rental issue. Woeful woeful interview.
