As the whole damned network is down. Getting various reports from all over the country that the BT service is down. eircom maybe thieving bastards but they have probably the best service around.

The whole network? What the hell is going on with them.
Couldn’t get on this morning in Carrigaline, tried resetting the router and it complained that the password and/or username are invalid.
It was down all last night.
Was down last night, but is back up again, (hence I am able to post)
It was down last night in Ballincollig last night. As well and the wife resorted to Eircom dialup to fetch email. Just great service, and the neighbor just got on BT this weekend. Maybe that was the straw that broke the camel.
One more thing, doesn’t this sound just like the ‘Smart’ thing all over again?
hooray, I picked a great week to go on a work trip to Serbia, then 😉
‘tried resetting the router and it complained that the password and/or username are invalid.’
sounds like the RADIUS servers acting up.
It does sound like a RADIUS issue. Don’t eircom manage RADIUS for all BitStream services?
cgarvey: They hand off the domains to the various isps based on the username e.g. @iolbb gets forwarded to BT’s bas for auth. It could be either provider causing the problem. If it was eircom wouldn’t the other services like strencom, netsource etc be affected? I’ve 4 netsource lines in my control which are ok. But the connections could be said to be “nailed up”

Gone for me in Galway too.
I have a red light on my Internet icon, kept resetting the modem… Doh!
My BT connection has been alive and kicking without any issues for a good while now.
UTV Internet was down for me this morning at around 7am, looks like it was a auth issue too… ah well, back up now!
(Makes note to get around to writing a script to reset the modem if the internet is not contactable)
I’m obliged to point out that Eircon had a screwed router which blanked half the intertubes for the entire weekend only 9 days ago.
