Insight into why Silicon Valley is great for startups… what about Ireland?
Before I moved out to California, people used to tell me that Silicon Valley had an entire eco-system built around startups… I just didn’t get it. What, in a tangible way, does that mean to me as someone who is
CFO Services who do my accounts haven’t invoiced me yet, and they have been doing my accounts for 18 months.
O’Donnell Sweeney (Solicitors) only invoiced me after I raised my first round of seed capital (and the bill didn’t break the Bank).
Similarily for CFI who managed our BES Round.
There are several excellent incubator programs (e.g. HotHouse) to get people bootstrapped and the few succesful entrepreneurs I have met are incredibily helpful and generous with their time.
So for its size Ireland is doing pretty well on the startup Eco System (in Dublin at least).
