Looking at new location for Blog Awards. Looked at the Guinness Storehouse. No bar allowed unless people have a substantial meal due to the Diageo reponsible drinking initiative. They will of course supply the food, for a price. Waiting on price for Gravity Bar for post event boozeup.
what about number 6 kildare st, just restored and very funky, is odessa club too small?
Needs to hold about 300-400 people.
Come North, enjoy the new “peace” dynamic, love is in the air and I’ll get you discount [nudge nudge wink wink]
I was at a conference in Guinness store house before, and I have to say it is a nice venue. The food requirement complicates it I suppose.
How about croker. Only chance a Cork man will win anything there.
I find the requirement a little ironic, coming from Diageo. 🙂
Sugar Club maybe?
Always Dublin… I’m with Manuel… not only will you get more bang for your buck the further you get out of the city, but ultimately it would be a cheaper night for attendees too. Of course, given their location, it could be a logistical nightmare.
It wouldn’t really be a cheaper night for attendees, though, because they’d have to get there and back.
Funny this – I was talking to somebody at the http://www.dubjug.org meetup only two days ago about the Storehouse – they enquired about booking their Xmas party in the gravity bar and were told that the cheapest food available was the buffet – €44.00 a head! This was in addition to the €4k needed to book the bar for the evening.

Irish Java Technology Conference – Nov 7/8/9
Or you can get the two course buffet (How does a buffet have a second course?) for €47 a head. Cheap as their chips.
