19, from Fermoy and running for local elections with the Greens. Already in the press. Anyone younger running in the locals?
It’s good to see young people going into real politics and not the make believe world of the Youth Wings of these parties. I really do wish him the best of luck and I hope him and a good many more younger people get seats. I wonder is this one of the answers to Fergal’s post? No page yet on the Green Party site for him but at least he can use the Internet!
Adam Douglas? – Adam from Douglas ? – Douglas Adams? Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Government? 🙂
Good to see some young folk taking it seriously though. Best of luck to him in his campaign.
PD in disguise.
Best of luck to him. Will be interesting to see what approach he takes to engaging online. It’ll be a tough year to run for the Greens, but the right person with the right campaign always has a great chance in a local campaign.

“Meanwhile any suggestion that the Greens could ever work with Fianna Fail is utter nonsense.”
Want some salt with those words?
Nothing new to the greens here. The 1st first elected member of the green party in Ireland was only 23. [ Killarney UDC – 1985 ]
He’s a good lad, finished his first marathon in October there and will be representing DCU in the World Debating Championships down in Cork this year.
Unfortunately for him he is in the wrong party
I feel very very old
^ is there a right party?
It’s very hard to know how he’ll do. Anyone who knows the Fermoy Town Council knows it’s a farce but just over 100 first preferences should get you in so it’s often a case of not what you know or have done, but how many you know in the town.
I interviewed him for my paper (the piece is not available online sadly) a few weeks ago and I was quite impressed. He’s not afraid to speak his mind but in a constructive way.
Hello all, thanks for your many comments on my candidacy and to the kind creator of this post. I hope to be able to engage with you all constructively online over the coming months and hopefully beyond that if fate so allows (the website is in the Production stage at the moment!). Regards, Adam
Finally….I’m sick of all these old white men in suits taking my money and screwing me over.
Nice to see a young face, instead of the same bunch of mummies burping out clouds of dust and bullshit.
go adam, go!
best of luck for the future ahead!
he’ll do well
Adam is a breath of fresh air in the world of Irish politics…. weldone!
